Fantastico is an easy installer system for cPanel®. It allows you to easily all sorts of useful software directly from your cPanel using a handy wizard-driven interface.
Available Fantastico Software Includes:
- Blogs – like WordPress
- Content Management Systems – like Drupal or Joomla
- Forums – like phpBB or SMF
- Shopping Carts – like OSCommerce, ZenCart
- Project Management, Wikis, CRM, and lots more.
To install software using Fantastico:
- Login to your hosting cPanel.
- Click the Fantastico link under the Software section of your cPanel
- Once Fantastico loads, you’ll see a column of available software on the left column – click on the software package you’d like to install.
- Click the New Installation link and follow the instructions to setup the software.
- Depending on the software, you’ll usually set the administrator information, the directory in which you’d like your software installed, database information and more.
- Once you’ve completed all the required information, click the Install button and sit back and watch the magic.
A few notes about using Fantastico:
- cPanel® maintains the versions of software available through Fantastico, so Fantastico doesn’t always contain the most recent version of the software.
- Some prefer to manually install software by downloading directly from the vendor’s site and following setup instructions. In general, this gives you more fine-grained control.
- If you’re using Fantastico for the first time, please make sure to backup your site files before installing software.
